Joshua Josué
Chicano artist Joshua Josué has spent years developing his distinct musical voice, blending Mexican folk traditions with the gritty essence of rock, blues, and soul. Drawing inspiration from influential acts like Los Lobos, Hermanos Gutiérrez, and Enrique Bunbury, Joshua’s sound is a powerful and evocative fusion of heartfelt lyrics, deep grooves, and authentic storytelling.
Joshua’s debut solo album, Beneath the Sand, is set to be released later this year under Electric CholoLand Records, was recorded with friends from The Chris Isaak Band, Los Lobos, and Dwight Yoakam’s Band. His music, as unique as his journey, reflects the essence of his life spent touring small venues and bars across Mexico and Central America with nothing but his guitar and his motorcycle. This period of travel, living on the road and immersed in the diverse cultures of Latin America, has infused his work with an authenticity and depth that sets him apart.
Joshua’s sound is raw and emotive, capturing the essence of his personal experiences and his deep connection to his heritage. His ability to seamlessly merge traditional Mexican folk sounds with modern rock influences allows him to tell his story in a way that resonates with listeners on a profound level.
